Let me introduce myself….name is Jackie Morales born and raised in Douglas Az….”D-Town”  Home of the Bulldogs..:)

 

Started my journey at the age of seventeen and made my move to The Valley of the Sun. Not knowing what lied in my path in the years to come. I knew in my heart I wanted to work with or around music, seeing that it has been a huge part of my life since I was a child. I grew up in a family of very talented musicians and I thank my Father (The heart of our family) for introducing me to real music and amazing artist. He showed me how to really listen and feel real music not just “hear it”. I learned to appreciate it and respect it….I embraced it…..I fell in love. (Thank you Pops).

 

At the age of Twenty-two I decided to take my first step into radio. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t terrified and extremely nervous. That’s when my Mom stepped in. (The backbone of our family) I will never forget her words to me. “Mija you can do and be whatever you want in this life, but you have to take the first step or else you’ll never know what could have been.”  At that moment I knew I had my family’s support and close friends support as well.

 

I attended The Academy of Radio and TV in 2001 and enjoyed every minute of it! Met a  great group of very talented people and learned something new from each and everyone of them.

 

At the age of Twenty-three I walked in to my very first (Home) station looking for a job in promotions….and was successful! Promotions lead me to learn how to run the board, to working on the air overnights, to weekend shifts, and to getting my very own show after two years. (7-10p.m.) I was extremely excited and so thankful to everyone who believed in me and helped me get to that point in time.

 

The movement for me went really fast! In a matter of five months I was offered a mid-day shift here in

Phoenix, that was it for me. Mid-day’s was my goal, it’s what I had been working so hard for and it was starring me in the face. That chapter in my life was amazing all the way around it also opened another door for me….a door I was ready to open……

My new Home! 101.5 JAMZ! Blazing The Valley’s Hits and Hip Hop!! I’m very excited to be a part of the team and extremely thankful to Jamz for allowing me into there home, where we can continue to live our dream. Jamz a new chapter……
